AJCAA Undergraduate Bursary Award 2010

AJCAA has just awarded bursary to 2 more recipients in 2010 — Ng Hong Kiang and Chua Chee Tek.

Ng Hong Kiang (PDG 18/04) — 2nd Year undergraduate at NUS Industrial Design

Hong Kiang has maintained a strong interest in arts and design since his JC days. While taking up part-time jobs to supplement family income, Hong Kiang has attained excellent results for his core design modules and participated in numerous design competitions. He was recently awarded 1st Prize and featured in Straits Times' Life! for his work 'An Asian Family' in NUS-WTP Young Designers' Competition. Awaiting acceptance for an exchange programme at Milan's Politechnico Di Milano to gain invaluable experiences, Hong Kiang hopes to be a role model for AJCians with interest in design and contribute back to AJC with his gift in design.

Chua Chee Tek (PDG 14/03) — Final Year undergraduate majoring in Mechatronics at NUS Mechanical Engineering

Due to both parents' advanced ages, Chee Tek has been giving tuitions to sustain family expenses. He has been consistent in his academic achievements and involvement in extra-curriculum activities with strong interest in Symphonic Band. Since last year, Chee Tek has also helped out in AJCAA Tutoring Programme for AJCians. Just returned from exchange programme at Canada's University of Waterloo, Chee Tek led his team 'TEAM RO-PE' in this year's Robocup 2010 Singapore Competition and won in both Dribble-and-Kick and Technical Challenge events in Adult Size category in the RoboCup Soccer Humanoid League.

Limiting to 2 recipients annually, current fund has been decreasing since 2009 and will be exhausted by 2014.

The Association needs your continuous support so as to continue to help more ex-AJCians lessen their burdens as they strive to advance in their academic pursuits.

AJCAA Tutoring Programme 2010

The AJCAA Tutoring Programme 2010 has suspended after 4 sessions in view of the JC2 prelims. It will be resuming on 2 October 2010. To date, the Programme is a great success with high turnouts for every session. AJCAA would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to all the passionate tutors who have volunteered themselves for the Programme.

On the other hand, some tutors will be leaving us by end September due to commencement of their university new semester. Thus, we are still looking for tutors who can tutor Chemistry or Economics.

Your help will be much appreciated. We look forward to you joining us. The Programme is held every Saturday from 9am to 12pm and expected to cease on 30 October in view of the JC2 'A' level examinations.
