1st Lim Kopi Session!

Dear Lim-Kopi-ers!

It was definitely an enjoyable event. To welcome members of the alumni from the 87/88 batches [Seniors Nikki, Frances and Juay Seng] was indeed wonderful - I was deeply surprised by the appearance of my seniors! (: Not to forget Zhi Qiang of 24/99 batch, who came down to enjoy the wonderful company. (:
Attached are the photos of the first Lim Kopi Session, where we got together and had a good talk. Frances mentioned of a time capsule hidden somewhere next to the tree next to the 1st classroom of the 1st block - we're actually looking into confirming the spot before starting to dig for that lost treasure of ours! (:
It was also nice to know that this Lim Kopi Session was an opportunity for the senior batches to come back to take a tour of the school, no matter how new is the school. I'll arrange the next time around for a tour of the school for the new participants of the Lim Kopi Session - who knows, we might even uncover more hidden treasures!

Another tip would be that we'll like to invite the teachers, be them current or former teachers, to come for the event. It would be nice to see them around, talking about the 'golden age' and current times. (: Furthermore, from the first Lim Kopi Session, I now understand that there were two couples that met in school before getting together as husband and wife - Keith (Kiat Meng) and his wife, Kelly; Nikki and his wife, Frances. It makes AJC so much more special with these wonderful memories.

Thus, I need your help to spread the word! (: Invite your batch mates to come down, no matter how senior they might be, it'd be good to come down for a good chit chat session about the good ol' days. And perhaps reply my email about the possible improvements and feedback about the first session? I would greatly appreciate that! (:

Cheerios!

AJCAA's Very Own Lim KoPi Session!

Anderson Junior College Alumni Association now introduces - Lim Kopi Sessions, a fortnightly get-together session.

Taking a breather away from all the hectic activities, we at the alumni have decided to slow things down, and do the most important thing - get every ex-AJCians back to bond together through a simple coffee session.

Don't worry, coffee's free, along with the company. (:

You're welcome to join us on the very first coffee session at AJC Ohana this coming July 5th, Saturday from 10 to 1:30. Don't worry about the dress code, it's just a relax, chill out and chit chat session with everyone from across the batches.

To break the ice, I'll be introducing everyone before each session, to avoid any awkward. [We're one BIG family after all. It'd be nice to know each other.] Thereafter, we'll have a short insight of what the alumni has done for the past year, before going into the relax mode of just sipping coffee and having a nice chat with the person next to you.

So, what say you? Come join me and many others on that day!

Date: 5th July 2008
Time: 10 a.m. to 130 p.m.

Watch out for this space!

As our dearest AJC reaches her 25th (Silver) anniversary, we have batches and batches of students graduating through her doors.

Now, it's time to catch them on the fast lane and see how they are doing after so long.

Watch this space - we'll be interviewing a lot of ex-AJCians soon!

Weekly Updates #15

Dear Excos,

A quick update, as of today we have 10 applications for this year’s bursary award.

It’s a pity there are a number of us who did not make it for the tea session with the principal, as it was a pretty fruitful session. Ms Leong commended on a number of initiatives that we are currently working on and spoke also on the planning for the 25th anniversary celebrations. For more details, Xavier is working on the minutes that was taken during the tea session.

We’ll be having our first AJCAA breakfast session this coming Sat. For those who can make it, do come and make friends with the other fellow ex-AJC-ians.

Have a great day!

Regards,
Keith
